About Me:
I am a Nigerian. I lived in the UK for 18 months between January 2009 to July 2010 for studies. I had experience in providing home care for my grandma.In Nigeria it's our custom to have grandparents live with their children and grandchildren when they reach the age where the require more assistance.I had learned to provide care and company. I still remember how my grandma loved to tell me stories about her youth and stories about my mum when she was a little girl. I can prepare meals and I can learn to prepare new dishes. I like to also care for someone who will be willing to still explore the outdoors (this could be wheeling the person in a chair for a short walk outside or to a nearby store), when the weather is good outside its refreshing to spend sometime outside. I also know how to give baths, this could be a bed bath but I recommend that the person could sit in a chair in the bathroom and after I had bathed the client, I can clean up the excess water on the floor or in the walk in bath. For my grandma we had a bath tub and since she couldn't climb in it she sat on a chair and after she's cleaned and dressed I would clean up the small pool of water from the floor.But I could learn other methods. I'm a caring person. I see everyone as family. The most important reason I'm applying for a care job in the UK is that I also have a 3years old son. I want him to live and study in the UK. I'm a single mum and I prefer that we live with others rather than by ourselves. The person who I will be lucky to provide care for will be considered family to us. The care job will be special to us. My 3years old is a good kid and he won't make a mess in the house. I clean the environment several times in a day. I can handle laundry and other errands.
