Food they like: Sadly my mother has absolutely no appetite now and we provide nutritional drink
Music: LOVES music, Abba, Queen, 70s, Nat King Cole etc...
TV: It is often on, however she is no longer particularly engaged, however likes the news and Corantion St
Books: she is very well read, and sadly this is now in the past
Days Out: Trips to the park in the wheelchair or an art gallery
Other Interests: Really enjoyed sculpture classes until the beginning of the year, but again this time has now passed
Details:
Our lovely 86 year old mum has dementia and has become increasingly frail in recent weeks. The time is now right for a live-in personal carer to come on board, as she lives alone in a 3 bedroom house in Beckenham. She is very content and likes to knit and relax, and naps a fair amount. She is from South Africa and we would be particularly interested to hear from any fellow South Africans. At night-time she tends to get up 2/3 times for a loo trip - and we hope our carer will monitor this and let us know if she needs night help. We would like a well-spoken carer with a can-do positive outlook and dementia experience, to provide stimulation and company. In return will be very supportive as a family with plenty of time off.
