About the Client
Clients Name: Julie
Food they like: She has a penchant for all things nostalgic and a bit stodgy! Apple cake being a classic example. But we also eat a lot of continental food in our house — italian being a solid favourite.
Music: Bruce Springsteen, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan... She spends a lot of time watching Tiny Desk sessions (NPR) on YouTube.
TV: Documentaries that challenge her mind in some way - historical, geographical, political. She also loves a scandi crime drama or two!
Films: She and dad quite enjoy a music documentary style film, comedies and drama.
Books: Again, often intellectual books that teach her something. She has a particular interest in philosophy and ancient history.
Days Out: Before her diagnosis days out were spent on Hampstead Heath, at her art class and eating out with friends.
Other Interests: She is incredibly bright, intelligent and creative. She has taught yoga for over 35 years and is a keen painter. Before her diagnosis she attended an art class and — though she wouldn't like to admit it — she is very talented. She now 'paints' digital art using her eye gaze machine.
Details:
Hello! We are looking for a kind, patient carer to help care for our mum who has Motor Neurone Disease.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a terminal, progressive muscle wasting condition which changes and becomes more complex over time. https://www.mndassociation.org/about-mnd/what-is-mnd/
We are looking for someone to work evenings — carrying out the bedtime routine — from approx 9pm, as many nights a week as possible.
Ideally you would live locally and/or have your own car so as to reduce the risk of Covid coming into the house.
Moving and handling qualifications are a bonus, but a positive outlook and willingness to learn is much more important!
If we think you might be a good fit, we will invite you for an interview. This will be a chance for us to find out more about your skills and to get to know each other better. Following the interview, we would like to do a week’s trial and go from there.
Hours will be paid weekly on receipt of invoice.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you so much.
