About Me:
I was a young carer for my younger brother growing up, my career naturally progressed into the role of support worker/care worker. I am a mother and still care for my brother, though he now lives almost independently and doesn't require as much help as he once did. I am currently employed as assistant manager in a small care setting, the pay is great but I'm really missing being hands on with people and would like to get back into it. I aspire to be a nurse when my children are a little older. I have a full driving license and a vehicle. I hold the advanced certificate in Health and Social Care (level 3) and a level 5 diploma in management and leadership within health and social care. I also hold vocational certificates in: medication administration, food hygiene, end of life care, moving and handling and appliance aid. I have experience in catheter care, pressure area care, safeguarding, care planning, liaising with health professionals, companionship, personal care, supporting independence, activity planning (in and out of home), preparing meals, housekeeping, etc.

Food: I love to cook, I love to present food in restaurant style and through my last/current role have learnt a lot about cooking and presentation.
I enjoy cooking classic dishes such as roast dinners, Italian pasta dishes, fish, risotto, etc.
Music: I enjoy current pop music but my affinity is to rock music, no one branch of rock in particular. I love the beatles, Metallica and more recent bands such as breaking benjamin.
TV: I don't watch much TV, but I do watch some netflix. I love comedy and period drama's, though I'm happy to watch anything.
Films: My favourite film is pride and prejudice! I love comedy, but also films that make you think, such as Memento and Inception.
Books: I love period books, Jane Austen and the Brontes, I'm currently reading The Red Queen by Philipa Gregory, which is about Margaret Beaufort, mother to Henry Tudor. I love the monarchy of old.
I have just finished reading my first thriller! The girl on the train, it is the best book I have read in a long time.
Days Out: My favourite day out would be taking a long walk and stopping at a nice little rustic cafe somewhere. Or visiting a historical city such as York or Chester. I enjoy shopping, wildlife parks and the cinema.
Other Interests: I am an avid reader and I enjoy learning as a hobby. My main hope in life is to make a difference to people.
